Backless Bar Stools

Backless bar stools have many advantages over their "with-back" brethren. These generally narrower take up less room than stools with backs. They are lighter weight. The can be easily tucked under the bar when not in use. Furthermore and perhaps most importantly, backless bar stools tend to have a lighter and airier feel to them.

On the downside, backless bar stools can be less comfortable. There also provide those seated in the bar stool with less security and stability. If the bar stool is located in a bar, the stability/security factor could be very important.

There are many different varieties of bar stools with out backs. The biggest variation might be in the height of the stool. These types of bar stools generally come in two standard sizes: 24 inch bar stool height and the taller 30 inch bar stool height. Your choice of bar stool will be necessarily dependent upon the height of the bar you wish to service. Most of the smaller stool are generally found in residential settings. The taller bar stools are found equally in residential and commercial settings.

Both bar stools without backs and with backs come in static and swivel versions. The swivel seat bar stool is much more convenient. This type of bar stool allows people to get on and off without having to move the stool legs. This feature helps reduce the wear and tear on the floor beneath the stool. Of course, the swivel seat bar stool is more expense than the fixed seat version. Although, it's speculative I expect the money you spend replacing carpet or refinishing hard wood floors might be equal to the increased cost of buying a swivel seated bar stool in the first place.

Backless bar stools are made from a variety of different types of materials which is the same for any type of stool. There is a stool to suit every taste and style.

Backless bar stools are commonly made from wood. Wooden bar stools are the oldest and most common types of bar stools across all of the different types of stools. Originally, oak bar stools or maple bar stools were common. These days pine bar stools are becoming more common. These wooden bar stool are either stained and varnished or painted.

Bar stools without backs are also made from metal, resin, hard plastic or a combination of different materials. Additionally, the bar stools can be either hard seated or made with an upholstered seat. The upholstery can either be leather or made from fabric. The backless leather bar stools tend to be very durable and a good investment. This type of stool wears extremely well and will look fantastic for years to come.

Whether you prefer a bar stool with a back or a bar stool without a back there are hundreds of different styles to choose from. You can go simple or elaborate. In choosing the style that is right for you, pay special attention to the size of your room.
